CBP Highway Ports are U.S. Customs and Border Protection ports of entry used by commercial highway carriers arriving from Canada. In BorderConnect ACE Manifest, carriers use the U.S. port code to identify the port of arrival on the ACE Manifest.

This page lists common U.S.-Canada commercial highway ports by state. Times are shown in local time zones: PT, MT, CT, and ET. CBP's official port pages and the CBP Border Wait Times system should be used to confirm current operating details, commercial availability, and live wait times before dispatch.

Using Port Codes

In BorderConnect ACE Manifest, the port code selected on the trip should match the U.S. port where the driver will physically arrive. The customs broker's entry information should also use the correct port of entry so CBP can match the carrier's ACE Manifest to the related release data.

If a driver changes crossing location after the ACE Manifest has been transmitted, the carrier should update the manifest before arrival when required. When in doubt, confirm the correct port code with the customs broker or CBP port before dispatch.

Notes: CBP has established the Gordie Howe International Bridge border crossing as a Class A port of entry for immigration purposes and as part of the Port of Detroit for customs purposes. The final rule is effective March 2, 2026, and CBP stated it will notify the public on the CBP website when the crossing is fully operational and open for public use. For ACE Manifest purposes, carriers should verify current CBP instructions before dispatch, but the customs port is Detroit (3801).

Border Wait Times

CBP provides a Border Wait Times website for Canadian and Mexican border crossings. The tool can be used to check current wait times at supported ports before dispatch, but carriers should still verify commercial lane availability and port instructions directly when the shipment has special handling, in-bond, inspection, permit, or appointment requirements.
