Insurance Policies are required if your truck is taking a shipment into the U.S. on an ACE Manifest with hazardous goods.

To assign an insurance policy to a truck, go to the Manage Data menu option at the top of the page and click Insurance Policies under the ACE Data section of the menu which will take you to the Insurance Policies List page. From this page you can view a list of the previous insurance policies entered in BorderConnect, or click the button New Insurance Policy.

<p>In BorderConnect, every ACE eManifest features a <strong>status bar</strong> that visually represents its current processing stage with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). These statuses update automatically in real-time as data is transmitted, accepted, or processed at the border.</p>


;Insurance Company Name
<p>You can find these indicators on the <strong>ACE Manifest Details Page</strong> and the <strong>ACE Manifest Search Page</strong>.</p>

This section of the page displays the list of truck insurance policies for the account. Insurance policies are used as part of the required information for hazardous materials in [[ACE_Manifest_Software_User_Guide_(CBP)|ACE Manifest]], they are not required to be entered otherwise. Policies listed here will appear in the Insurance Policy drop down menu on the truck profile.

<h4>Draft (1 Yellow Bar)</h4>
:Allows the user to add a new insurance policy to the account. Clicking on this button will bring the user to a page where the insurance information can be entered. Once finished, clicking Save will add the insurance policy and return the user to the Company Details Page.
<p>The manifest is created but has not been sent to CBP. The driver <strong>cannot</strong> go to the border.</p>

:Allows the user to edit the information for the insurance policy. Clicking this link will bring the user to a page where the insurance information can be updated. Once finished, clicking Save will add the insurance policy and return the user to the Company Details Page.

<p>CBP has acknowledged the trip header but is waiting for the "End of Manifest" signal. This is common for <strong>Empty</strong> manifests or those with <strong>IITs</strong>.</p>

ACE Manifest Statuses

A visual guide to understanding the processing stages of your ACE eManifest in BorderConnect.

Overview

Color-coded ACE Manifest statuses in BorderConnect

In BorderConnect, every ACE eManifest features a status bar that visually represents its current processing stage with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). These statuses update automatically in real-time as data is transmitted, accepted, or processed at the border.

You can find these indicators on the ACE Manifest Details Page and the ACE Manifest Search Page.

Color Logic: Generally, Yellow indicates action is needed or pending, Blue indicates the manifest is on file, and Green indicates broker clearance or release. Brown/Red indicates errors or cancellations.

Quick Status Reference

Status Visual Meaning Action Required
Draft 1 Yellow Bar Not yet sent to CBP. Complete data and click Sync.
Transmitted 2 Yellow Bars Sent; awaiting CBP response. Wait 1-2 minutes for reply.
Preliminary 2 Light Blue Trip accepted; processing shipments. Wait for "End of Manifest" cycle.
Error (Rejected) 2 Brown Bars Rejected by CBP. Fix error and Re-Sync.
Complete On File 3 Blue Bars Manifest accepted by CBP. Driver may proceed (if no PAPS).
Entry #s On File 4 Green Bars Broker entry matched (PAPS). Driver is clear to proceed.
Arrived 5 Dark Green Truck reported at border. Monitor for release.
Released 6 Green Bars Shipment released. Proceed to destination.

Status Definitions & Actions

Preparation & Transmission

Draft (1 Yellow Bar)

The manifest is created but has not been sent to CBP. The driver cannot go to the border.

  • Action: Review your data and click Sync with CBP.

Transmitted to CBP (2 Yellow Bars)

The data has been sent and BorderConnect is waiting for a response.

  • Action: Wait 1–2 minutes. If it remains stuck for over 30 minutes, contact Support.

CBP Returned Error (2 Brown Bars)

CBP has rejected the manifest due to incorrect or missing data.

  • Action: Check the History tab for the specific reject message, fix the error, and click Sync with CBP again.

On File (Ready for Border)
