== Declaring an Emergency Repairs Cargo Exemption in ACI eManifest ==

Emergency Repairs shipments are required to be reported on an ACI eManifest as a cargo exemption on the conveyance. <p><strong>Emergency Repairs</strong> is a Canadian cargo exemption used when a commercial conveyance is repaired outside of Canada. To qualify, the repair must result from an <strong>unforeseen contingency</strong> that occurred while the vehicle was outside Canada, and the repairs must be necessary to ensure the <strong>safe return</strong> of the conveyance.</p>


If any additional shipments exist on the manifest, it must also be declared on the eManifest as a shipment or a cargo exemption.
<p>This exemption allows the vehicle to re-enter Canada without a standard commercial entry for the value of the repair, provided specific reporting conditions are met.</p>


At the border, the driver must present a barcoded ACI lead sheet or Cargo Control Number and also present the Emergency Repairs information,, as well as other documentation related to the clearance.
