The most commonly used feature of the PARS checking software is the Newest Shipments listing, which displays the most recent shipments to be accepted or released. To access this listing, select the option 'Newest Shipments' under the 'PARS Shipments' menu.

This will bring you to the Newest Shipments Page, which consists of two main listings. The first listing is of PARS shipments that have been accepted by CBSA and are awaiting arrival at the border, but are not yet released. This listing is the most useful when you are trying to determine if your drivers are ready to cross the border. Any PARS submission by a customs broker will show up here once it is accepted by CBSA, provided that your carrier code was used in the PARS number.

<p>Once a broker files a PARS declaration and CBSA accepts it, the shipment will automatically appear in BorderConnect for real-time tracking.</p>

For each accepted PARS, important information will be displayed, including:
<div class="bc-did-you-know" style="margin-top: 15px;">
*Date and time that CBSA accepted the PARS declaration.
<strong>Prerequisites:</strong><br>
*PARS number (cargo control number) entered by the broker. You will want to ensure that this number exactly matches the number on your ACI Shipment and/or PARS sticker, being particularly watchful of whether the word PARS has been omitted or entered in error, and missing or added zeroes. This will give you the opportunity to call the broker to correct their submission or to correct your ACI eManifest before the driver reaches the border.
To use this feature, your BorderConnect account must be active, your carrier code must be registered for RNS with CBSA, and brokers must be submitting entries using your specific carrier code.
*Transaction Number, which is a unique reference number assigned by the broker. Although it is not strictly required to cross the border, it can be useful to give as a confirmation if a problem comes up.
</div>
*Release Office, which in the case of PARS shipments is where your driver is set up to cross the border. If your driver is crossing somewhere other than the port listed, you should contact the broker to have the port updated.
*Driver. This information does not come from CBSA, but BorderConnect will automatically display the driver for this shipment if you have entered an ACI eManifest on BorderConnect ACI which contains this PARS number, or if you have entered a PARS sequence on your driver profile that contains this PARS number. It is also possible to manually assign a driver here by clicking the Assign Driver link.
*ACI Trip Status. If you are also using BorderConnect ACI, the current status of the manifest containing this shipment will be displayed here, or a link to create a new ACI eManifest if one does not exist for this shipment yet. Clicking this link will fill in some of the information on your manifest for you, including port of arrival and cargo control number.
*ACI Shipment Status. If you are also using BorderConnect ACI, the current status of the ACI Shipment will be displayed here, or a link to create a new ACI Shipment if one does not exist yet. Clicking this link will fill in some of the information on your shipment for you, including port of arrival and cargo control number.

From this listing, you can also click View on an individual shipment to be bring up some additional details about it, including the broker (if known), the service option the broker used to submit the PARS, the [[Sub_Location_(Canadian_Shipments)|Sublocation]], container numbers and delivery instructions. You will also have the option to add comments to the shipment for your users to refer back to, and to send a [[Status_Query_Feature_(CBSA_Shipments)|Status Query]] for the shipment.

The second listing is of shipments that have been released by CBSA, meaning they have crossed the border for PARS shipments or been authorized to be removed from the warehouse for inbond shipments. This listing useful for tracking your shipments to see when they crossed the border, and for making sure that each shipment gets put into released status. If you have a PARS from the accepted listing that does not move over to released and you know your driver has already crossed into Canada, it is important to follow up on the situation.

The information displayed for the released shipments will be the same as that displayed for the accepted shipments above, with the addition of the ability to print a Proof of Release. Clicking this link brings up a pdf of the Release Notification Report for the shipment. This report, because it is generated based on information received directly from CBSA, is considered a legal document and can be presented in cases in which the customs stamped paperwork has been lost.

Prerequisites:
To use this feature, your BorderConnect account must be active, your carrier code must be registered for RNS with CBSA, and brokers must be submitting entries using your specific carrier code.

Understanding PARS Lists
