ACE Manifest Statuses

A visual guide to understanding the processing stages of your ACE eManifest in BorderConnect.

Overview

Color-coded ACE Manifest statuses in BorderConnect

In BorderConnect, every ACE eManifest features a status bar that visually represents its current processing stage with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). These statuses update automatically in real-time as data is transmitted, accepted, or processed at the border.

You can find these indicators on the ACE Manifest Details Page and the ACE Manifest Search Page.

Color Logic: Generally, Yellow indicates action is needed or pending, Blue indicates the manifest is on file, and Green indicates broker clearance or release. Brown/Red indicates errors or cancellations.

Quick Status Reference

Draft 1 Yellow Bar Not yet sent to CBP. Complete data and click Sync.

Status Definitions & Actions

Preparation & Transmission

Draft (1 Yellow Bar)

The manifest is created but has not been sent to CBP. The driver cannot go to the border.

  • Action: Review your data and click Sync with CBP.

Transmitted to CBP (2 Yellow Bars)

The data has been sent and BorderConnect is waiting for a response.

  • Action: Wait 1–2 minutes. If it remains stuck for over 30 minutes, contact Support.

CBP Returned Error (2 Brown Bars)

CBP has rejected the manifest due to incorrect or missing data.

  • Action: Check the History tab for the specific reject message, fix the error, and click Sync with CBP again.
  • Guide: How to Fix Rejected Manifests

On File (Ready for Border)

Preliminary Manifest On File (2 Light Blue Bars)

CBP has acknowledged the trip header but is waiting for the "End of Manifest" signal. This is common for Empty manifests or those with IITs.

  • Action: Wait a moment. It should automatically update to "Complete Manifest On File" shortly.

Complete Manifest On File (3 Blue Bars)

The manifest is fully accepted. If you are hauling Section 321s, IITs, or In-Bonds, the driver is good to go.

  • Note: If you have PAPS shipments, wait for the 4th green bar (Entry Numbers) before sending the driver.

Complete Manifest & Entry Numbers On File (4 Green Bars)

The Gold Standard. The manifest is on file, and the Customs Broker has successfully filed their entries (PAPS). These entries have matched with your manifest.

  • Action: Driver is fully cleared to proceed to the border.

At the Border

Truck Arrived at Border (5 Dark Green Bars)

The truck has physically arrived at the port and the driver’s badge/barcode has been scanned.

  • Meaning: The truck is currently at the booth or in secondary processing.
  • Action: If the truck remains in this status for a long time, the driver may be held or undergoing inspection.

Truck Released at Border (6 Green Bars)

Success! The shipment has been released and the driver is free to enter the United States.
