This guide explains how to create and maintain driver profiles in BorderConnect. It assumes that you have an active software subscription with BorderConnect. If you are not presently set up with an account, please contact BorderConnect.
Driver profiles store reusable driver information so it does not need to be entered again every time the driver is used on a manifest or shipment workflow.
| Feature | How the driver profile is used |
|---|---|
| ACE eManifests | Completes mandatory driver information for ACE manifests. |
| ACI eManifests | Identifies the driver for user reference or automatic notifications. |
| PARS Checking | Identifies the driver for user reference or automatic notifications on PARS and RMD shipments. |
Once a driver profile is saved, you can select the driver on a manifest and BorderConnect will load the saved driver information automatically.

Overview
Driver profiles are used to save driver information that may be needed for ACE eManifests, ACI eManifests, PARS Checking, RMD tracking, and driver notifications.
For ACE eManifests, the driver profile should contain the information CBP requires for the driver crossing into the United States. For ACI and PARS workflows, the profile can also help identify the driver and send automatic notifications when enabled.
Maintaining complete driver profiles reduces duplicate data entry and helps prevent missing driver information when a manifest is being prepared.
Creating a New Driver Profile
To begin creating a new driver profile, select Create Driver under the Manage Data menu.

This opens the Add New Driver Page, where the driver's primary information can be entered. This page also includes notification options if you want the driver to receive automatic notifications.
The legend at the bottom of the page indicates which fields are required for which purposes. For example, if the driver profile will not be used for ACE eManifests, only the Driver Number, First Name, and Last Name are required.
If the profile may be used for ACE eManifests in the future, it is best to enter the full driver information when the profile is created. This helps avoid last-minute updates when the driver is assigned to an ACE Manifest.
If this profile will be used for ACE eManifests and the driver has a FAST card, enter it under ACE ID / FAST ID. FAST drivers are expected to be reported in ACE using this field.
After entering the information, click Save at the top left. BorderConnect will open the Driver Details Page, which displays an overview of the driver profile.

Required Driver Information
The required information depends on how the driver profile will be used.
| Use | Recommended driver information |
|---|---|
| ACE eManifest | Full driver details, FAST ID or required travel documents, commercial driver's license information, and any other required ACE fields. |
| ACI eManifest | Driver number, first name, last name, and notification details if driver notifications will be used. |
| PARS or RMD notifications | Driver number, first name, last name, notification details, and assigned PARS or RMD sequences if applicable. |
If a driver may cross into the United States, complete the ACE-related fields even if the driver is not being used on an ACE eManifest immediately.
Travel Documents
If the driver profile will be used for ACE eManifests and you have not entered a FAST card or ACE ID, the next step is to enter travel documents.
Non-FAST drivers require two travel documents on their driver profile:
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| Commercial Driver's License | Enter this as the driver's licence document. |
| Additional travel document | Enter a document that satisfies the driver's WHTI requirements, such as a passport or equivalent document required for entering the United States at land border crossings. |
To add the documents, click Add Travel Document and enter the Commercial Driver's License first. Click Save to return to the Driver Details Page, then click Add Travel Document again to add the additional document.
For drivers with an Enhanced Driver's License, enter it as two separate travel documents: once as a Commercial Driver's License and once as an Enhanced Driver's License.
PARS and RMD Sequences
If the driver profile will be used for reference or notifications with BorderConnect's PARS Checking software, but not with BorderConnect's ACI eManifest software, enter PARS and RMD sequences on the driver profile.
Having the sequences entered ahead of time allows BorderConnect to automatically identify which driver a PARS or RMD belongs to when a new message comes in from CBSA. The message will then be marked with that driver's name in the PARS Shipments listing in BorderConnect.
If notification options have been set, the message can also be forwarded to the driver automatically.
To enter a PARS sequence, click Add PARS Sequence. Indicate the set of PARS numbers assigned to the driver, then click Save.
The assigned PARS sequences will be listed on the driver profile, including how many PARS stickers remain and options to manage the list.
RMD sequences are added and managed in the same way by clicking Add RMD Sequence.
CSA Details
The CSA details on a driver profile are only used when your company is transmitting CSA shipments in ACI using BorderConnect.
They should only be entered by the person in your company who maintains TCP lists as part of your CSA requirements. For training and support on entering this information, that person should contact BorderConnect directly.
If your company does not use CSA shipment workflows, this section can normally be left blank.
Maintaining Driver Profiles
To manage existing driver profiles, open the Driver Search Page by selecting Search Drivers from the Manage Data menu.

By default, this page displays a list of all driver profiles for your account. This is useful when checking which drivers have already been entered.
The search options can also be used to find a particular driver or group of drivers.
| Action | What to do |
|---|---|
| View or update a driver | Find the driver and click View to open the Driver Details Page. Use the search options if there are many profiles on the account. |
| Delete a driver | Find the driver and click Delete. |
| Restore a deleted driver | Set Is Driver Active to No in the search options, search for the driver, then click Activate. |
Best Practices
Create driver profiles before they are needed on a live manifest. This gives administrators time to confirm names, licence details, FAST IDs, travel documents, and notification preferences before a driver is waiting to cross.
Review driver profiles regularly, especially for drivers who use passports, FAST cards, or other travel documents with expiry dates. Expired or incorrect document information can cause ACE eManifest delays or rejects.
Deactivate driver profiles instead of reusing them for a different driver. Each driver profile should represent one actual driver so manifest history and notification records remain accurate.
