Edit ACE Shipment Page (ACE Manifest)

The Edit ACE Shipment Page is where users edit the main shipment information for an existing shipment in BorderConnect ACE Manifest software. This page is used to update the shipment type, shipment control number, province of loading, and the trip number the shipment is attached to.
The Edit ACE Shipment Page can be accessed from the ACE Shipment Details Page by clicking the Edit button in the top left, or from the ACE eManifest Details Page by clicking the Edit link for the shipment in the shipment section of the manifest.
Page Buttons

| Save | Saves the data entered on the page. This button can only be used when the shipment control number has been entered. Clicking Save updates the shipment and returns the user to the ACE Shipment Details Page. |
| Cancel | Cancels the attempt to edit the shipment. Any unsaved changes are discarded, and the user is returned to the ACE Shipment Details Page. |
| Clear | Clears the data from all fields on the page, making the fields blank. |
Shipment Fields
| Field | Description |

| Shipment Type | Indicates the customs clearance type for the shipment. The selected shipment type determines how the goods are reported to CBP. |
| Shipment Control Number | A unique number used to identify the shipment for CBP. Every ACE shipment requires a unique Shipment Control Number. For PAPS shipments, this is the PAPS number. The Shipment Control Number begins with the carrier's SCAC, selected from the drop-down menu, followed by at least 4 letters or numbers entered by the user. |
| Province of Loading | Indicates the Canadian province where the goods were shipped from. It should match the province listed under the shipper's address on the shipment paperwork. BorderConnect defaults this field to the last province used on an ACE shipment, but it can be changed using the drop-down menu. |
| Attached to Trip Number | Indicates which ACE Manifest the shipment is attached to. If the shipment was started from a manifest, this field is filled in automatically. Otherwise, the user can type the trip number and select the manifest when it appears. The selected manifest must already exist. This field can also be left blank to create an unassociated shipment. |
Shipment Control Number Tips
The Shipment Control Number must be unique for each ACE shipment. Reusing a previous Shipment Control Number can cause transmission or processing issues with CBP.
For PAPS shipments, the Shipment Control Number should match the PAPS barcode label provided to the broker and driver. If the number on the ACE shipment does not match the number used by the broker, the shipment may not line up correctly at the border.
A good practice is to confirm the SCAC and shipment number before saving. This helps prevent mismatches between the ACE shipment, broker entry, and driver paperwork.
Editing Tips
Review the shipment type before saving changes. Changing the shipment type may affect what information is required for the shipment.
Confirm the shipment is attached to the correct ACE Manifest. If the shipment is attached to the wrong trip number, the driver may arrive with shipment information connected to the wrong manifest.
Use Cancel instead of the browser back button when leaving the page without saving. This keeps the workflow clear and returns the user to the ACE Shipment Details Page.
