QP Commodity Descriptions Search Page
Manage standard commodity descriptions for faster QP In-Bond data entry.
Overview
The QP Commodity Descriptions Search Page in BorderConnect U.S. In-Bond Manager allows the user to manage QP Commodity Descriptions. These stored descriptions speed up data entry when creating new QP in-bond shipments.
How to Access:
Navigate to the U.S. In-Bonds menu and select Commodity Descriptions.
Creating New Descriptions
Descriptions are often saved automatically while entering a QP in-bond, but they can also be added manually here.
New Commodity Description
Click the New Commodity Description button to open the add page. You can define:
- Description: The text used to describe the goods (e.g., "AUTO PARTS").
- Default Quantity Type: The standard packaging unit (e.g., Pallets, Pieces).
- Default Weight Unit: The standard weight measurement (e.g., KG, LBS).
- Alias: An optional short code to quickly pull up this profile.
Search Controls
This section allows the user to find existing descriptions by entering a Description/Alias or filtering by Quantity Type.
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Search | Searches for matching results based on the options entered. |
| Reset | Resets the search options to their default settings. |
| Clear | Clears all fields to blank so new criteria can be entered. |
Results & Management
The results section displays the list of profiles generated by your search. Use the three-dot tooltip menu on the right side of each result to manage them.
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Edit | Opens the edit page to update the Description, defaults, or Alias. Clicking Save updates the profile immediately. |
| Delete | Permanently removes the Commodity Profile from the system. |
