Add Trailer Page
Create and manage reusable profiles for trailers used on ACE and ACI eManifests.
Overview

The Add Trailer Page is where users create and store Trailer Profiles in BorderConnect eManifest software. Creating profiles ensures that conveyance information—such as license plates and trailer types—is entered consistently and accurately across all your ACE and ACI manifests.
How to Reach This Page:
- From the Manage Data menu by selecting Create Trailer.
- From the Trailer Search Page by clicking Create Trailer.
- From the Trailer section of an active ACE Manifest by selecting Create New Trailer.
Page Controls
Use the following buttons to manage the data entry process.
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Save | Creates the Trailer Profile and immediately opens the Trailer Details Page. |
| Cancel | Discards entered data and returns you to the Trailer Search Page. |
| Clear | Empties all fields so you can start over with a fresh entry. |
Trailer Information Fields
This section contains the required fields to define the trailer for customs purposes.
| Field | Description & Importance |
|---|---|
| Trailer Number | Your internal unit or fleet number. Identifies the trailer on manifests and documents. |
| Trailer Type | The style of trailer (e.g., Van, Flatbed, Tanker, Refridgerated). Ensures correct conveyance classification. |
| License Plate Number | The plate number assigned to the trailer. Required for customs reporting. |
| License Plate State/Province | The jurisdiction that issued the plate. Confirms registration location. |
| ACE ID | Optional. The trailer's specific ACE identifier (if applicable). Used by CBP for tracking. |
Tips & Workflow
Helpful Tips
- Consistency: Use consistent trailer numbers that match your internal fleet records to avoid confusion.
- Validation: Double check license plate details. Incorrect plates are a common cause of manifest validation warnings.
- Trailer Types: If your exact trailer style isn't listed, select the closest available "Other" option or standard equivalent.
What Happens After Saving?
Once the profile is saved, the trailer will:
- Appear in Trailer Search results.
- Be available for quick selection on both ACE and ACI eManifests.
- Open automatically in the Trailer Details Page for review or further edits.
