ACI eManifest Status Guide (ACI eManifest)
This article is part of the BorderConnect ACI eManifest Guide |
Unique to BorderConnect ACI eManifest software, an ACI eManifest Status is a color coded object within the ACI eManifest Details page and the ACI eManifest Search Page that helps users easily determine the eManifest's current state with Canada Border Services Agency.
ACI eManifest status will update automatically either when the ACI eManifest is transmitted or receives a specific response from CBSA thereby updating the manifest status.
List of ACI eManifest Statuses
- Draft
- (One Yellow Bar) The ACI eManifest is currently active but has not been transmitted to CBSA yet. It's recommended to finish entering data for the eManifest and send it to CBSA using the Sync with CBSA button from the ACI eManifest Details page.
- Cancelled
- (One Red Bar) The ACI eManifest which was previously submitted to CBSA has now been cancelled and the eManifest has been removed from customs system. To receive a Cancelled status a user must have transmitted a Cancel eManifest from the top of the ACI eManifest Details page and subsequently received a successful cancelled message from CBSA.
- Transmitted to CBSA
- (Two Yellow Bars) The ACI eManifest was recently transmitted to CBSA but has not received a response yet. During normal operation a response will usually arrive in 2-4 minutes upon transmitting the ACI eManifest to CBSA. This status is common when initially sending your eManifest to CBSA or syncing an ACI eManifest that you recently made changes to.
- CBSA Returned Error
- (Two Brown Bars) This status indicates that the ACI eManifest has returned an error message back from CBSA after either transmitting the initial manifest to CBSA or revising information on your manifest and re-syncing the ACI with CBSA. In cases like this it's important to determine what the error is and to resolve the issue before re-syncing the ACI eManifest with CBSA. Insight on the error or reject message is provided in the ACI eManifest History section of the ACI eManifest Details Page. A quick chat or call with BorderConnect eManifest Support can also guide you to resolve the error. To learn how to resolve common ACI eManifest rejects visit the Correcting Rejected ACI eManifests Guide.
- Preliminary Manifest On File With CBP
- (Two Light Blue Bars) This status is common when filing an ACE eManifest with either an eManifest containing Instruments of International Traffic (IIT), or when filing an ACE eManifest without a shipment, such as empty ACE eManifests. When an ACE eManifest is in a Preliminary state it will be followed by automatically transmitting an End of Manifest message which will lead to the status being updated to Complete Manifest on File with CBP after CBP accepts the ACE.
- Complete Manifest On File With CBP
- (Three Blue Bars) This status means that the ACE Manifest is accepted and on file with CBP. If the ACE Manifest does not have a PAPS or In-Bond shipment then this status indicates that the driver is ready to approach the border.
- Complete Manifest And Entry Numbers On File With CBP
- (Four Green Bars) This status is common when the ACE Manifest has a PAPS shipment. This means that an entry number has been processed and certified by CBP from the customs broker and that the driver is now clear to approach the border. For PAPS shipments an entry number will also be provided in the ACE eManifest history section of the ACE eManifest Details page.
- Truck Arrived at Border
- (Five Dark Green Bars) This status means that the driver has been reported as arrived at the Port of Arrival by the CBP officer. Typically when the ACE has been reported as arrived the driver is held at the border, either because there is an issue with the ACE Manifest, the driver or is held as they are awaiting a secondary inspection before being released. It's recommended to reach out to the driver and determine why the status is in an arrived state and to resolve the issue. If there is an issue with the ACE Manifest (as provided by the CBP officer), it's recommended to reach out to BorderConnect eManifest Support so they can help resolve the issue.
- Truck Released at Border
- (Six Green Bars) This means that the ACE Manifest has been successfully released by the CBP officer at the Port of Arrival and the shipment is headed to it's final destination within the U.S. No further action is required.
