The ACI Shipment Details Page is the central workspace for reviewing, managing, and transmitting individual ACI shipments in BorderConnect’s ACI eManifest system.

ACI Shipment Details page

From this page you can:

  • Review all shipment information in one place
  • Attach or detach the shipment from a manifest
  • Send shipment messages to CBSA
  • Monitor CBSA responses and status history
  • Manage shippers, consignees, contacts, and commodities

How to access this page

You will arrive at the ACI Shipment Details Page when:

Main function buttons

Located near the top of the page, these controls manage transmission and major shipment actions.

 
ACI Shipment Main Function Buttons
Button Purpose
Edit Modify shipment fields such as cargo number, ports, ETA, and shipment type
Detach Remove shipment from the attached manifest while keeping it stored
Export Download shipment data in JSON format
Send to CBSA Transmit shipment messaging to customs
Set Status Manually correct displayed status (rarely needed)
Back to ACI eManifest Return to the parent manifest
Change Trip / Add Trip Attach shipment to an existing manifest

Send to CBSA options

When hovering over Send to CBSA, select the appropriate transmission type:

Option When to use
Send New Shipment Request When the shipment has not yet been filed with CBSA
Send Change Shipment Request When correcting or updating a shipment before arrival
Send Amendment to Shipment Request When the manifest has arrived and updates are required
Send Cancel/Delete Request When cancelling a shipment on file with CBSA

🔖 In most cases, transmissions should be sent from the ACI eManifest Details Page so the full trip and shipment data is sent together.

Details and history window

Located directly below the main buttons.

 

Details tab

Displays key shipment information such as:

  • Cargo Control Number
  • Port of Entry and Release Office
  • Estimated arrival date and time
  • Bonded sub location (if applicable)
  • Current CBSA status
  • Associated manifest (trip number)

History tab

Shows a chronological log of:

  • Shipment creation
  • Edits and major changes
  • Messages sent to CBSA
  • CBSA acceptances, rejects, and arrivals

This section is essential for tracking compliance and troubleshooting.

Shipper, consignee, and contacts

These sections define the trade parties for the shipment.

   

Action Use case
Create Shipper Add a new shipper profile not yet in BorderConnect
Create Consignee Add a new consignee profile
Add 3rd Party Add delivery destination or notify party
Quick Assign Select existing profiles quickly
Edit Correct address or name details
Remove from Shipment Detach a party from the shipment

🔖 Use Quick Assign whenever possible to avoid duplicate profile creation.

Commodity section

Located at the bottom of the page.

 

Each shipment must include at least one commodity describing the goods being transported.

Available actions

Button Function
Create Commodity Add a new commodity record
Edit Modify commodity details
Delete Remove commodity from the shipment

Commodities include descriptions, weights, quantities, and classification information required by CBSA.

Recommended workflow

Create shipment
   ↓
Attach to manifest
   ↓
Add shipper & consignee
   ↓
Add commodities
   ↓
Review details & history
   ↓
Transmit via eManifest

Best practices

🔖 • Always verify Cargo Control Numbers before transmission • Keep shipment ETA aligned with the manifest ETA • Attach shipments to manifests before sending to CBSA when possible • Review History for accepts or rejects after each transmission
