How to create a trailer profile in BorderConnect.

This guide explains how to create, manage, and maintain trailer profiles in BorderConnect.

Trailer profiles allow you to store trailer details once and reuse them on future manifests, helping reduce data entry time and ensure consistency when filing ACE and ACI eManifests.

Once saved, trailer profiles remain available in your account and can be selected whenever you create a new manifest.

Creating a New Trailer Profile

To create a new trailer profile:

  1. Open the Manage Data menu
  2. Select Create Trailer

This opens the Add Trailer Page, where you can enter the trailer’s identifying details.

Required Information

The legend at the bottom of the Add Trailer page indicates which fields are required, depending on how the profile will be used.

Usage Notes
ACI eManifest Only one license plate is permitted per trailer
ACE eManifest Trailer details must match conveyance data exactly

🔖 If a trailer may be used on ACI eManifests in the future, ensure the information entered complies with ACI requirements to avoid filing issues.

Once all required information has been entered, click Save (top left).

You will be taken to the Trailer Details Page, which displays a full overview of the trailer profile.

License Plate Information

Adding or Editing License Plates

If a license plate was not added during initial setup, it can be added from the Trailer Details Page using the Add License Plate to Trailer button.

⚠️ ACI eManifest allows only one license plate per trailer. If a physical trailer uses multiple plates, you must create separate trailer profiles for ACI compliance.

While the system allows multiple license plates to be entered, this is not recommended for trailers that will be used on ACI eManifests.

Managing Existing Trailer Profiles

To view or manage existing trailer profiles:

  1. Open the Manage Data menu
  2. Select Search Trailer

This opens the Trailer Search Page.

By default, all trailer profiles in your account are displayed. Search filters can be used to quickly locate a specific trailer if your account contains many profiles.

Viewing, Updating, or Deleting Trailer Profiles

From the Trailer Search Page:

  • View / Update – Click View to open the Trailer Details Page and make changes
  • Delete – Click Delete to permanently remove a trailer profile

Deleted trailer profiles will no longer be selectable when creating new manifests.
