An Emergency Repairs is a Canadian Cargo Exemption for goods to clear through CBSA and ACI eManifest. It is a conveyance that has been repaired outside Canada as a result of an unforeseen contingency that occurred outside Canada; and the repairs were necessary to ensure the safe return to Canada of the conveyance.
Declaring an Emergency Repairs Cargo Exemption in ACI eManifest
Emergency Repairs shipments are required to be reported on an ACI eManifest as a cargo exemption on the conveyance. To report Emergency Repairs the carrier will need to create an ACI eManifest and select the the cargo exemption type "Emergency Repairs" in BorderConnect's ACI eManifest software), and ensure that the eManifest and shipment(s) are transmitted as part of their ACI eManifest.
If any additional shipments exist on the manifest, it must also be declared on the eManifest as a shipment or a cargo exemption.
At the border, the driver must present a barcoded ACI lead sheet or Cargo Control Number and also present the Emergency Repairs information,, as well as other documentation related to the clearance.
|In order to comply with ACI eManifest requirements you are required to ensure that both your manifest and the broker clearance on any PARS shipments are on file with CBSA for at least one hour before the driver arrives at the border.|
