ACE Manifest Status Guide (ACE Manifest)
| This article is part of the BorderConnect ACE Manifest Guide |

Unique to BorderConnect ACE Manifest software, an ACE Manifest Status is a color-coded object within the ACE Manifest Details Page and the ACE Manifest Search Page that helps users determine the eManifest's current state with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
ACE Manifest statuses update automatically when the ACE Manifest is transmitted or when BorderConnect receives a specific response from CBP.
ACE Manifest Status Reference
| Status | Visual indicator | Meaning and recommended action |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | One yellow bar | The ACE Manifest is active but has not been transmitted to CBP. Finish entering data and send it to CBP using Sync with CBP from the ACE eManifest Details Page. |
| Transmitted to CBP | Two yellow bars | The ACE Manifest was recently transmitted to CBP and BorderConnect is waiting for a response. During normal operation, a response usually arrives within one to two minutes. This status is common after sending a new manifest or syncing changes. |
| Preliminary Manifest On File With CBP | Two light blue bars | Common when filing an ACE eManifest containing Instruments of International Traffic (IIT) or when filing without a shipment, such as an empty ACE eManifest. BorderConnect will automatically transmit an End of Manifest message, and the status should update to Complete Manifest On File With CBP after CBP accepts it. |
| CBP Returned Error | Two brown bars | CBP returned an error after the initial transmission or after a resync. Review the ACE eManifest History section on the ACE eManifest Details Page to identify the reject reason, correct the issue, and sync again. See Correcting Rejected ACE Manifests for common reject help. |
| Complete Manifest On File With CBP | Three blue bars | The ACE Manifest is accepted and on file with CBP. If the ACE Manifest does not have a PAPS or In-Bond shipment, this status indicates that the driver is ready to approach the border. |
| Complete Manifest And Entry Numbers On File With CBP | Four green bars | Common when the ACE Manifest has a PAPS shipment. The customs broker has processed and certified the entry number with CBP, and the driver is clear to approach the border. For PAPS shipments, the entry number will also be shown in the ACE eManifest history. |
| Truck Arrived at Border | Five dark green bars | The driver has been reported as arrived at the Port of Arrival by the CBP officer. If the manifest remains in this status, contact the driver to determine whether the truck is being held, waiting for secondary inspection, or if an ACE Manifest issue needs to be resolved. |
| Truck Released at Border | Six green bars | The ACE Manifest has been released by the CBP officer at the Port of Arrival and the shipment is headed to its final U.S. destination. No further action is required. |
| Cancelled Manifest | One red bar | The ACE Manifest was previously submitted to CBP and has now been cancelled and removed from the customs system. This status appears after the user transmits a Cancel eManifest request and receives a successful cancellation response from CBP. |
Troubleshooting Notes
- If a manifest stays in Transmitted to CBP longer than expected, review the history and contact BorderConnect eManifest Support if no response arrives.
- If the status is CBP Returned Error, the reject reason in the history is the best starting point for correction.
- For PAPS shipments, wait for Complete Manifest And Entry Numbers On File With CBP before sending the driver to the border.
- If the status is Truck Arrived at Border for an extended period, contact the driver and confirm whether CBP is holding the truck, the driver, or the shipment for inspection or correction.
