Send In-Bond Status Query Page (U.S. In-Bond Manager)
| This article is part of the BorderConnect U.S. In-Bond Manager Guide |

The Send In-Bond Status Query Page is a page in BorderConnect U.S. In-Bond Manager used to ask CBP for the current status of a specific in-bond shipment.
Sending an in-bond status query is often the first step when bringing electronic in-bond information into BorderConnect. It is useful when:
- a third party, such as a customs broker or another service provider, is processing the in-bond and the user wants to gather the current status from CBP;
- the user wants to link the in-bond to an existing ACI eManifest so the in-bond can automatically close when the shipment arrives in Canada; or
- the user needs current CBP information before sending an in-bond arrival or export message, such as for a Type 62 Transportation and Exportation bond.
It is recommended to send an in-bond status query before sending an arrival or export message to CBP when the current CBP status is uncertain.
Ways to Send an In-Bond Status Query
An in-bond status query can be started from several places in BorderConnect:
- Hover over U.S. In-Bonds and select Send In-Bond Status Query.
- Open the In-Bond Dashboard and click Find New In-Bond.
- Open an existing in-bond report and click Send In-Bond Status Query.
- Use the Search In-Bond Status Queries Page to send an in-bond number query, a Bill of Lading query, or an Air Waybill query.
Sending an In-Bond Status Query
To send a query from the menu or dashboard, open the Send In-Bond Status Query page and enter the in-bond entry number.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| In-Bond Entry Number | Enter the full in-bond entry number exactly as it appears on the CBP Form 7512 or other in-bond documents. The number should be 9 numeric digits, with no spaces, dashes, or special characters. |
Once the in-bond entry number has been entered, click Send In-Bond Status Query to CBP.
After the query is sent, the user is returned to the In-Bond Dashboard. The new status query will usually appear as the first result with a status of Transmitted. CBP generally responds within 1-2 minutes.
The dashboard can also be used to look up past status queries and in-bond reports using the search options.
Sending a Query From an In-Bond Report

The user can also send a status query directly from an in-bond report. Clicking Send In-Bond Status Query opens the Send In-Bond Status Query page with the in-bond entry number pre-filled. After the query is sent, the user is returned to the in-bond report, where the transmitted query appears in the report history.
This is useful when the report already exists but the user wants to refresh the status before taking another action, such as arrival, export, or diversion.
Sending a Query From Search

The user can also send a status query from the Search In-Bond Status Queries Page. Clicking Send In-Bond Status Query opens the Send In-Bond Status Query page and returns the user to the search page after transmission.
The same search page also supports:
- Query Bill of Lading: checks the status of an in-bond by Bill of Lading.
- Query Air Waybill: checks the status of an in-bond by Air Waybill.
