Truck Details Page (ACE and ACI eManifest)

The Truck Details Page is a page in BorderConnect eManifest software where the user can view and edit a truck profile. All information in the truck profile is displayed here, along with options to add or change information.

The Truck Details Page can be accessed in the following ways:

From the Truck Search Page by clicking the View link for the desired truck.
From the Add Truck Page or Edit Truck Page by clicking the Save button.
From the truck details for ACE eManifest page by clicking the View Truck button.
From the ACI eManifest Details Page by clicking the View link for the truck.

Truck Details Section

The Truck Details Section, located at the top of the page, displays the general information for the truck profile. This may include the truck number, VIN, truck type, terminal, and any other truck information saved to the profile.

The truck number is the main identifier users will normally search for or select when adding a truck to an ACE or ACI eManifest. Users should make sure the truck number matches the unit number used by dispatch and the driver.

Viewing the Truck Details page — Viewing the **Truck Details** page

Button	Description
Edit Truck	Updates the general information for the truck profile. Clicking this button brings the user to the Edit Truck Page.
Delete	Deletes the truck profile. This should only be used when the truck profile is no longer needed and should not be selected by users creating or updating a manifest.

License Plate Section

This section allows the user to manage the license plate for the truck. Currently entered license plate information is listed here, along with options to add, remove, or edit it.

License plates are required if the truck profile will be used on ACE or ACI eManifests. Only one license plate should be entered.

Action	Description
Add License Plate to Truck	Adds a license plate to the truck profile. Clicking this button brings the user to a separate screen where the plate number and state or province can be entered. Once entered, clicking Save adds the license plate and returns the user to the Truck Details Page.
Edit	Edits a license plate. Clicking this link brings the user to a separate screen where changes can be made. Once finished, clicking Save updates the license plate and returns the user to the Truck Details Page.
Delete	Removes a license plate from the truck profile.

Comment Section

This section allows the user to add and view comments about the truck. Comments are for user reference only and are not transmitted to customs. They can be used to record information that does not belong elsewhere in the truck profile, such as maintenance notes or internal operating reminders.

Action	Description
Add Comment	Adds a comment to the truck profile. Clicking this button brings the user to a screen where the comment can be typed. Once finished, clicking Save adds the comment to the truck profile and returns the user to the Truck Details Page.
Edit	Edits an existing comment. Clicking this link brings the user to a screen where the comment can be edited. Once finished, clicking Save updates the comment and returns the user to the Truck Details Page.
Delete	Removes a comment from the truck profile.

Using Trucks on eManifests

Truck profiles help users quickly add conveyance information to ACE and ACI eManifests without retyping the same truck details each time. Once a truck profile has been created, it can be selected when building or editing a manifest.

Before transmitting a manifest, users should confirm that the selected truck profile matches the physical truck being used for the trip. The truck number, VIN, truck type, and license plate should match the driver’s equipment and supporting documents.

Best Practices

Keep truck numbers consistent with the unit numbers used by dispatch and drivers.
Enter only one active license plate per truck profile.
Update the license plate when a truck is re-plated or registered in a different state or province.
Keep the VIN accurate, especially for companies that use the same or similar truck numbers across multiple terminals.
Avoid deleting truck profiles that may still be used for current or recurring trips.
Use comments for internal notes only, not for customs instructions that need to be transmitted.
