Overview

Truck profiles store reusable truck information for ACE Manifests and ACI eManifests. Once a profile is saved, users can select the truck on a manifest and BorderConnect will load the saved information automatically.
Maintaining truck profiles helps reduce repeated data entry and prevents missing truck information when creating an eManifest. Truck profiles are especially useful for carriers that reuse the same power units across multiple trips.
Creating a New Truck Profile
To begin creating a new truck profile, select Create Truck under the Manage Data menu.
This opens the Add Truck Page, where the truck information can be entered.

The legend at the bottom of the page indicates which fields are required for which purposes. For example, if the truck profile will not be used for ACE eManifests, only the Truck Number, License Plate Number, and License Plate State/Province are required.
If the truck profile may be used for ACE eManifests in the future, it is best to enter all required ACE information when the profile is created. This helps avoid last-minute updates when the truck is assigned to an ACE Manifest.
After entering the information, click Save at the top left. BorderConnect will open the Truck Details Page, which displays an overview of the truck profile.

License Plates
Although you can add the license plate on the Add Truck Page, you can also add it later from the Truck Details Page by clicking Add License Plate to Truck.
You can add additional license plates by clicking Add License Plate to Truck again, but this is not recommended because it is not compatible with ACE and ACI eManifest requirements.
Only one license plate should be used for trucks on manifests. If the same physical truck needs to be reported with different plates, create separate truck profiles as needed.
Required Information
The required information depends on how the truck profile will be used.
| Use | Recommended truck information |
|---|---|
| ACE Manifest | Truck number, truck type, license plate information, VIN or ACE-required conveyance details, and any other ACE-specific fields required for the trip. |
| ACI eManifest | Truck number, license plate number, license plate state or province, and any ACI-required conveyance details. |
If a truck may be used in both ACE and ACI workflows, complete the fields needed for both programs when creating the profile. This helps avoid last-minute updates when the truck is assigned to a manifest.
Maintaining Truck Profiles
To manage existing truck profiles, open the Truck Search Page by selecting Search Trucks from the Manage Data menu.

By default, this page displays a list of all truck profiles for your account. This is useful when checking which trucks have already been entered.
The search options can also be used to find a particular truck or group of trucks.
| Action | What to do |
|---|---|
| View or update a truck | Find the truck and click View to open the Truck Details Page. Use the search options if there are many profiles on the account. |
| Delete a truck | Find the truck and click Delete. |
Best Practices
Create truck profiles before the truck needs to be added to a live eManifest. This gives users time to confirm truck number, plate details, VIN, equipment type, and any ACE or ACI fields before the trip is ready to send.
Use a consistent truck-number format across the account. This makes it easier for dispatchers to search for the correct truck and helps prevent duplicate truck profiles.
Do not reuse one truck profile for a different physical truck. Each profile should represent one actual power unit so manifest history remains accurate.
