This article is part of the BorderConnect ACI eManifest Guide
A list of different ACI eManifest statuses in BorderConnect.

Unique to BorderConnect ACI eManifest software, an ACI eManifest Status is a color-coded object within the ACI eManifest Details Page and the ACI eManifest Search Page. It helps users determine the eManifest's current state with Canada Border Services Agency.

ACI eManifest statuses update automatically when the ACI eManifest is transmitted or when BorderConnect receives a specific response from CBSA.

ACI eManifest Status Reference

Status Visual indicator Meaning and recommended action
Draft One yellow bar The ACI eManifest is active but has not been transmitted to CBSA. Finish entering the eManifest data and send it to CBSA using Sync with CBSA from the ACI eManifest Details Page.
Cancelled One red bar The ACI eManifest was previously submitted to CBSA and has now been cancelled and removed from the customs system. This status appears after the user transmits a Cancel eManifest request and receives a successful cancellation response from CBSA.
Transmitted to CBSA Two yellow bars The ACI eManifest was recently transmitted to CBSA and BorderConnect is waiting for a response. During normal operation, a response usually arrives in 2 to 4 minutes. This status is common after initially sending an eManifest or syncing recent changes.
CBSA Returned Error Two brown bars CBSA returned an error after the initial transmission or after a resync. Review the ACI eManifest History section to identify the reject reason, correct the issue, and sync again. See Correcting Rejected ACI eManifests for common reject help.
On File With CBSA Three blue bars The ACI eManifest is accepted and on file with CBSA. If the manifest does not have a PARS shipment, the driver may approach the border after the required one-hour wait period has concluded.
On File with Match Notice Three light blue bars Common when the ACI eManifest is on file with a PARS shipment. It means the Cargo Control Number on the ACI eManifest also has a linked message in the Release Notification System (RNS). Send a Status Query for the PARS shipment to check whether a Declaration Accept Message is available. If received, BorderConnect automatically updates the ACI eManifest to On File With Transaction Number(s).
On File With Transaction Number(s) Four green bars Common when the ACI eManifest has a PARS shipment. A transaction number has been processed and certified by CBSA from the customs broker, and the driver is clear to approach the border after the required one-hour wait period has concluded. For PARS shipments, the transaction number is also shown in the ACI eManifest history.
Arrival Reported at Border Five dark green bars The driver has been reported as arrived at the First Port of Entry by the CBSA officer. If the shipment is not PARS or In-Bond, this status may remain indefinitely even after the shipment is released. It may also mean the driver is waiting for secondary inspection or that there is an issue with the driver or ACI eManifest.
Rejected after Arrival at Border Five brown bars The ACI eManifest was rejected by the CBSA officer at the border, or CBSA requested rejection at arrival because information must be corrected. Contact the driver to understand the reason, correct the ACI eManifest, and transmit an Amendment from the Send to CBSA menu. If the amendment is accepted, the status changes back to Arrival Reported at Border. If it fails, the status remains Rejected after Arrival at Border.
Released Six green bars The ACI eManifest with a PARS or In-Bond shipment has been released by the CBSA officer at the First Port of Entry or from a Sufferance Warehouse, and the shipment is headed to its final destination in Canada. No further action is required.

Troubleshooting Notes

  • If the status remains Transmitted to CBSA longer than expected, review the history and contact BorderConnect eManifest Support if no response arrives.
  • If the status is CBSA Returned Error, the reject message in the history is the best starting point for correction.
  • For PARS shipments, wait for On File With Transaction Number(s) before sending the driver to the border.
  • If the status is Rejected after Arrival at Border, confirm the issue with the driver and transmit an Amendment after correcting the manifest.
